Barcelona unveiled latest signing Yerry Mina at the Nou Camp on Saturday – and fans loved what he did before walking onto the pitch.
The Colombian centre-back joined from Palmeiras on Thursday in a £10.5million deal, on a five-and-a-half year contract.
Mina had only been at the Brazilian side for a season, making 33 appearances, having joined from Santa Fe in 2016 – where he won the Copa Sudamericana.
And it appears the 23-year-old has become an instant hit with the fans, despite not even playing a single minute.
During his presentation to the fans, and before stepping onto the pitch, Mina took off both his shoes and socks.
It has been revealed that the defender performs the ritual at every club he joins, and when asked why in his press conference, he quoted a proverb from the bible: “With the sole of your feet will touch the ground you want to conquer and I want to succeed here.”
Here’s how a selection of Barcelona’s fans reacted to Mina’s unveiling.
