Dancing On Ice spend £100K upgrading accommodation after stars complain about budget hotel

Stars including Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent and Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Waring have to stay overnight near its filming location in Hertfordshire due to a demanding rehearsal schedule.

They were booked into the £61-a-night Holiday Inn in Hemel Hempstead, which is close to RAF Bovingdon, backdrop for a number of hit films including Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, where the ITV skating contest is filmed.

But after complaints from the celebrities, producers were forced to upgrade them into the £130-a-night four-star Hotel De Vere in Buckinghamshire, which has a swimming pool and plush bar, at a total cost for the 10-week run of about £100,000.

Professional skater Matt Evers, the partner of Bake Off queen Candice Brown, has stayed out of the hotel row by renting a house during the filming of Dancing On Ice.

Actor Vincent, 25, who is dancing with professional partner Matej Silecky, has already given her seal of approval to the hotel switch and told fans of her excitement on a picture she posted with her footballer boyfriend Kean Bryan on the social media site Instagram.

She said: “The hotel put a picture of us in my room. This is the cutest thing ever.”
