Serial killer Levi Bellfield has bragged about feasting on steak and kippers in prison, saying: “I most likely eat better than most out there.”
Evil Bellfield will die behind bars after being convicted of murdering Milly Dowler, 13, Marsha McDonnell, 19 and Amelie Delagrange, 22.
But despite being locked up, the 49-year-old claims he feasts on “proper food” – including halal rump steak, legs of lamb and roast beef.
Using his own money to buy the items, he also says he scoffs haddock, kippers, mackerel and poached eggs at HMP Frankland, Co Durham.
In a letter to a pen pal, Bellfield, a high-risk category A inmate, reportedly wrote: “To be honest mate I most likely eat better than most out there.”
He also claimed he cooked breakfast every weekend, The Sun reports.
“Poached eggs, kippers, toast and honey, washed down with a pot of coffee,” he apparently told his friend, adding: “I’m a good cook mate.”
Bellfield, who has converted to Islam behind bars, wrote the letter from the jail under the name he now goes by, Yusuf Rahim.
In it, he also reportedly told his pal how he obsessively lines up his belongings, saying: “Everything has to be in place neat and tidy”.
These include a TV, a PlayStation, an X-Box and a sound system.
And he claimed he terrorised Charles Bronson, who is locked up at HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire, where Bellfield was formerly detained.
Bronson, dubbed ‘Britain’s most notorious prisoner’, is serving life behind bars after taking a art teacher hostage at Hull prison.
The reports of Bellfield’s pen pal letter come more than a month after the serial killer’s beloved mum, Jean Bellfield, died aged 81.
A family member claimed Bellfield may confess to more murders following the death of his mother, who insisted her son was innocent.
The former bouncer and car clamper was convicted of the abduction and murder of schoolgirl Milly and the hammer murders of Marsha and Amelie.
But he has been linked to the deaths of other young women.
Insiders previously claimed he had not admitted the full extent of his crimes as it would “tear his mother in two”.
The family member said last month: “Even though Levi is pure evil, it will destroy him to learn of his mum’s death.
“Jean couldn’t accept he was the monster everyone made him out to be. Now he doesn’t need to protect her, people close to him think he could come clean.”
However, Bellfield’s brother insisted: “To say Levi will admit to lots of other murders is just sick, he has never confessed to any murders.”
