Liverpool have made an increased offer with Roma demanding 40 million Euros for the Egyptian winger with negotiations nearing conclusion.

Oxlade-Chamberlain ready to snub Liverpool to stay at Arsenal

Liverpool have been chasing the Arsenal midfielder and are desperate to try to lure him to Anfield this summer.

But Arsenal have made it clear they are determined to keep him and have begun talks over a new deal worth in excess of £100,000-a-week.

Carragher becomes even more of a Liverpool legend

The whole of Old Trafford winced as Jamie Carragher rushed towards Gary Neville as he attempted to control the ball, writes David Maddock.

More than 70,000 fans were ready to shout “behind you”, as the former Liverpool player – who had his every touch booed during this testimonial – produced the snapping challenge he had promised.

Neville went down in a comedy heap, and at the end, the pair embraced to show their rivalry is now very much of the friendly sort, even if Carragher put it to one side for that moment .

“Here to support XCarrick and his charity, but more importantly to snap @GNev2,” he said on Twitter.

And afterwards, he joked he had delivered on his promise and the two would remain friendly…but that was as far as his generosity would extend.

“I told him what was coming, and to be fair I went easy on him, I don’t know what he is moaning about,” the tv pundit said.
