Westworld season 2: California Fires halt production as blazes threaten celebrity mansions

HBO have confirmed that filming has been put on hold for the safety of the cast and crew.

“Due to nearby wildfires, Westworld stopped production earlier today and will resume filming as soon as it’s safe to do so,” the network told the MailOnline on Tuesday.

The hit sic-fi series isn’t the only show to be affected by the vicious fires, as filming for CBS series S.W.A.T. has also been interrupted.

A tweet from the writer’s official Twitter said: “Production of @swatcbs has been suspended for the day due to wildfires and unsafe air near out stages.

“Safety of cast and crew comes first,” the statement continued. “Prayers to all affected by these fires.”

Meanwhile, the blazes across Southern California have forced thousands to evacuate, schools to shut and roads to close as firefighters attempt to control the flames.

Stars such as Chrissy Teigen, 32, Paris Hilton, 36, and Chelsea Handler, 42, have had to evacuate their lavish homes, with many taking to social media to post updates on the fires.

“Never thought I’d get to actually play what I thought was a hypothetical game of what would you grab if there were a fire,” Chrissy tweeted to her 8.9 million followers. “So far all I have is Luna, some limited edition Oreos and my Spike TV award.

“We are fine and we will be fine,” she assured her fans. “Thinking of everyone else affected and continuing my lifelong intense love of firefighters.”

Paris said that she was trying to get her pets to safety away from the fires, saying: “This wildfire in LA is terrifying!

“My house is now being evacuated to get all of my pets out of there safely,” she continued. “Thank you to all the firefighters who are risking their lives to save ours.

“You are true heroes.”
