Which Game of Thrones character is most likely to die revealed as huge death toll shown for the first time

The last season of Game of Thrones was the bloodiest in the show’s history.

A total of 43 named characters were killed in season six, our analysis shows – the most of any season to date.

They include a record five members of a season’s main cast – Ramsay Bolton, his father Roose Bolton (killed by Ramsay), Tommen Baratheon, his wife Margaery Tyrell and the High Sparrow.

The last episode of season six, the Winds of Winter, had 11 named characters killed – the most of any of the show’s 60 episodes to date.

The Watchers on the Wall, which features a huge assault on the Wall by the wildlings, saw eight named characters die – the second most violent episode.

Usually the final two episodes of a season contain the most violence as the storyline builds up to its finale.

House Baratheon has suffered the most in all this violence of all the major families in the Game of Thrones universe.

Eight Baratheons have died since the show started and the House now has no legal descendants to carry on the family name.

The Lannisters have lost six of their family, but only one of them, Tywin, has ever been credited as a main cast member.

The Starks have lost five of their House. The first episode of season seven will premiere on Monday July 17 in the UK.

Fans have had to wait a year to return to Westeros and Essos. There will only be seven episodes this season instead of the usual ten, but the running times will be longer.

We compiled this data based on records kept on the dedicated Game of Thrones Wikia – a fan site for the show.

It is based on characters to have a name, a nickname or a unique title and excludes off-screen deaths and flashbacks.
